Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Ltd submitted its application for development consent for the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Generation Assets to the Planning Inspectorate on Friday 31 May 2024. On 27 June 2024, the application was accepted for examination, meaning it will now progress to the pre-examination stage.

On Monday 23 September 2024, the Examining Authority published its Rule 6 letter which sets out the draft examination timetable for the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Generation Assets project. The examination will begin at the Preliminary Meeting and further information regarding the upcoming hearings can be found here.
