The Morecambe Offshore Windfarm has won Offshore Project of the Year at the prestigious National Wind Energy Awards, hosted in London on 17 September 2026.
The recognition comes shortly after another significant milestone for the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm, following the granting of the Development Consent Order for the project’s transmission assets earlier this month.
Reflecting on the news for the project, Holly Cartwright, CEO of COP UK and Ireland, said:
”It’s been a huge week for the Morecambe Project. Not only did we receive development consent for the transmission assets on Monday, but we also won Offshore Project of the Year, the icing on the cake.
“We are incredibly proud of this project, which represents years of hard work, collaboration and commitment from everyone involved.
“All the projects nominated for this award deserve our recognition, as our industry continues its vast collective effort to deliver the energy transition. A massive congratulations to everyone involved.”
The Morecambe project’s Consent Manager Oliver Gardner said:
